PROGRAM

active community outreach program that is an educational and free
service to the communities we are located in:
Screenings
Our ophthalmic technicians will come to your location and provide
vision and/or glaucoma screenings for your staff or health program
participants.
Glasses Adjustments
This popular program brings a certified optician to your location
to clean and adjust your participant's eyeglasses. Our board certified
opticians are qualified to answer a wide variety of questions on
all types of lenses including the latest on progressive and transitional
lenses.
Career Day
One of our ophthalmologists, optometrists, ophthalmic technicians
or opticians will come to your school or job fair to present information
to students interested in careers in ophthalmology.
Pig Eye Program
This hands on program is a favorite of science and biology teachers
from 6th grade to high school. A certified ophthalmic technician
will visit your school or children's group and present this educational
interactive program on the anatomy of the eye.
Laser Vision Correction Seminars
These two-hour monthly sessions allow those considering laser vision
correction to talk with an ophthalmologist one-on-one to find out
more about the latest advancements in laser vision correction. Participants
will discover whether they are a candidate, see a film of the actual
procedure and talk with a patient who has had RK, PRK or LASIK.
Cataract Support Club
This popular luncheon program brings together patients who have
recently undergone cataract surgery with those considering the procedure.
It offers an opportunity to meet the doctor, exchange information,
ask questions and alleviate fears.
Low Vision Support Groups
Our certified low vision specialist will demonstrate adaptive equipment
and techniques for improving lives and increasing independence for
the low vision patient. Program topics include community resources,
free books on tape and newspaper reading services, area support
groups, low vision clinics and even cooking demonstrations to enhance
the lifestyles of those with low vision.
