Alexandria Halkias joined Fox Valley Ophthalmology in 2001 and brings
a combination of expertise and accomplishment to our practice, particularly
in the area of contact lens capabilities.

After
receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University in
Chicago, in 1985, Dr. Halkias went on to a four-year professional
program at the Illinois College of Optometry where she was awarded
her Doctor of Optometry in 1989. While studying Optometry with some
of the most renowned experts in the field, she received incomparable
clinical experience during her Optometric Externship at the Great
Lakes Naval Station. During her tenure at the Naval Station, she
gained a special expertise in such areas as: pediatrics; binocular
vision; contact lens prescription and management and advanced ophthalmic
care as well as primary eye care. Through active participation and
study, Dr. Halkias gained insights that now greatly benefit her
patients as she specializes in fitting contact lenses, and providing
eye care for patients of all ages and vision levels.
Dr. Halkias is certified in the diagnosis and management of ocular
disease by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and received
a Pediatric and Binocular Vision Award from the Illinois College
of Optometry. She is a member of the American Optometric Association
and the Illinois Association of Optometry.
