Christy M. Harvey, M.D.

Dr. Harvey is a medical retina specialist who trained at the University of Iowa by some of the best retina specialists in the world. She is comfortable treating all macular and peripheral retinal conditions, as well as practicing general ophthalmology. Dr. Harvey holds an expertise at diagnosing unique retinal pathology, performing laser surgery and retinal injections.

Dr. Harvey chose this field because she understands the concern associated with visual loss, and realizes the importance of maintaining one’s vision for independence and quality of life. She prides herself on providing a truly comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for each patient, and is uniquely qualified to counsel and treat patients based on their individual retinal condition. Dr. Harvey believes that treating the whole patient involves a deeper connection and trust, which she will strive to achieve with every encounter.

Dr. Harvey grew up in Sycamore, IL and is thrilled to be back home serving the community where she was raised. She has two young daughters and two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, one of which is an escape artist and may be spotted trolling around town from time to time.  She enjoys spending time with family, cooking, traveling, and jogging outside regardless of temperature.  She is very much looking forward to treating each patient with the same care and attention as a member of her own family.
